the worlds worst

We all know Climate Change is endangering species and is going to have some impacts on the Environment, reading through the detail of the latest WWF report outlining the current species under threat: I discovered a statment that disturbed me, perhaps every other Australian knew this and I simply buried my head in the sand but here it is

WWF spokeswoman Tammie Matson said the country already has the worst rate of mammal extinction in the world, with close to 40 percent of global mammal extinctions in the last 200 years.

World's worst rate on mammal extinction, Climate Change or not, I am glad most Australians seem to be on the page of improving yet another horrible statistic. I know we are good at swimming but it would be nice to be good at something else like treating our Planet well and saving our fellow mammals.

Louie, I didn't know about this. I honestly thought we were up there with the countries who make the greatest effort. WWF is actually something I strongly support.

We have introduced way too many invasive species by the sounds of the WWF, probably more ignorance than intent, but still disappointing to be the worst.

People think I'm cruel and heartless because I shoot rabbits and foxes etc.

Have you ever seen what a fox does to another animal?

I consider myself a practical conservationist, yet hippies call me an animal.

Thats cool.
I like animals.
In fact my best friend is a Husky.

yes jarrah there is a grey area there, I have been prone to knocking off the odd Cane Toad myself........they only harm other animals so i consider it my duty, not sure f hippies would like that too much.

Think Cibby stole my thunder with the whole introduced species thing.

That said - I still cannot understand the furore behind the misinformed Japanese push to have no culling at all of the kangaroo population.

I suspect the same lobby group is behind the no mulesing of sheep debate.

It's not just you, I literally only found out about this yesterday. The worst in the world!!! When you consider the amount of rainforest that's being razed in South America and Africa every day......the fact that we're the worst is pretty horrific.
