Foo-fighters and Ice Bombs....
June 19th 2007 21:38
Trapped inside my living room with wild storms and heavy rain battering the East Coast I got a little curious about this recent deluge of rain we have been having while most of my country is still suffering from the worst drought in - well my - living memory.
Is this weird weather Climate change talking or does shitt just happen?
I mean surely there were stroms and droughts and weird stuff going on before Climate change was a multi-billion dollar industry? After all what would the Foo Fighters be called if it wasn't for the stories of the Pilots from both sides of in World War II telling us of balls of light circling around their planes.
Yes droughts and strange weather patterns did happen back in the day, we are not suffering alone. I guess the 30 billion $$$ question is whether or not it is our mis- treatment of the Earth is making it all worse? And the answer is most probably yes but weird weather certainly doesn't appear to indicate the Apocalypse is nigh - mind you that combined with the Mayan stuff and the Bees could be a bit freaky if you think too hard - We all love the climate change hoax conspiracy theories for a good dinner party argument but at the end of the day the evidence is pretty compelling.
The weirdest Weather story I read about was an incident in 1958 in Madison Township New Jersey where a 70 pound Ice Bomb dropped through the roof of a Farmers Kitchen, a similar incident was reported in 1963 in Manchester England but the Bomb shattered on the ground before it could be weighed and documented.
Strange weather patterns do appear to be cyclicalsso a few storms is probably way too early to get hysterical. But when we do things like Cloud seeding and play around with nature and take them for granted the way we do, what do we expect I guess? Here are some cool links to Weird Weather stories I have found. It is fascinating to read about all the wierd stuff that goes on in this amazing world of ours. Foo FightersIce Bombs I am going to do a lot more reading into weird weather phenomina.
