where do they stand?
January 18th 2008 01:36
It goes without saying that global climate change policy will be greatly affected by whoever wins the U.S. elections this year. I stand firm in my view that we have come this far without U.S. support so we don't really need them, in saying that it would be nice if the new version of Kyoto was a true Global compact.
I thought a few readers might be interested in knowing where each of the candidates stands on climate change. As far as I have read Hillary is the only one who has publicly said she will sign Kyoto; so here's hoping she either gets up or campaigns hard on this issue and forces other candidates to promise to sign!!! If Australia is anything to go by it could arugably be an election winning stance. Interesting that Thompson stands by the "head in the sand approach". You would think he would have realised that it is better to say nothing than deny the existence of climate change all together.........
happy FRIDAY!!!!!
