Let's make no mistake, I am a fan, but i am not a fan of this. Yesterday at a conference Tm Flannery revealed Climate Change is far worse than he thought a few years ago and we might ave to resort to desperate measures, not so bad right? Well think again, those desperate measures are, amongst other ideas, to put Sulphur of all things into the stratosphere to encourage something called "global dimming" , fine to have an idea and endorse it, but the next bit is the scary thing, coming from a man of science
I am surprised that a respected scientist would endorse a potentially hairbrained scheme without actually knowing the consequences, he has lost a LOT of credibility in my mind.
Hell he may be right but what if he isn't, we cant go running around impacting our planet on this scale DELIBERATELY without actually knowing some of the consequences.
Rant over, let's hope this was a temporary moment of madness and he will either prove it or take it all back. Bloggers like me are supposed to have the crazy baseless ideas and rave on about them, scientists like him are supposed to present ideas that have some scientific basis and proof to boot, that's just the way it works!!!!!!!

I have read some stuff on this recently, and you are dead right, it is hair brained and some senior morons connected to the White House think it is a great idea, among other global adjustments they have planned!!
The result, giving it is sulphur, woudl surley mena sulfuric acid rain is developed in areas, maybe everywhere? Not sure of the chemistry on that, but sulphur dioxide definitely converts into sulphuric acid in the right conditions.
As for other ideas, you should check out the HAARP project, based in Alaska, and there are many other nefarious goings on with our atmosphere that are military related.
Possibly some of them have something to do with weather manipulation and change....scary stuff...don't research unless you don't mind a disturbed sleep!!

I was talking to someone the other day and he was saying some King of a SE Asian country shoots stuff into the sky to make it rain every time he speaks because he is known as a rain spirit.....crazy stuff, I mean WHO DOES THIS?????? no wonder the earth is at breaking point.
I believe there was even a whole conference on it a few months ago (I think I wrote a post, memory is failing me :
