Phone Book Karma......Typical

So a few of you read my little rant about the Phone Books and how redundant they are, and what a waste of time and money and waste of Trees, well I have to retract my View ONLY SLGHTLY mind you...I still think they should be asked for not given automatically but maybe they aren't as redundant as i thought...oops
Let me tell you a story...I am right down to the very end of a long and Gruelling license application involving ASIC, a 450 page submission, lots of lawyers and fees and time and money and am sweating it...It was supposed to be lodged today. We get to the 11th hour and lo and behold the highly paid lawyer who has siphoned the better part of my life savings FORGOT one crucial Document, this document has to be procured from London of all places, BUT not to worry in Lieu of i can get a stat dec signed by a Justice of the Peace and this will save the day....So start looking for a JP in all the usual places, Chemist, Post Office, Bank, Police Station, each one of them sent me to the other until I had done laps of every neighbouring Suburb and then some and WASTED Valuable time. Before this happened I had thought I'd have free time and had planned to drop by my Sisters house, so i call to cance - no lame excuse this time - I tell her my drama - then she says no worries ill jst look one up in the phone book for you......... yes you can guess the rest....

Bad Bad Louie for saying something mean about the White Pages........ I will still campaign on the Automatic send out, my Sis could have just as easily googled the info.....

P.S. Some interesting Climate Change times ahead with conferences left, right and centre but a lot of its is boring so far sol I'll filter. One thing I have noticed is that it isn't true that we dont have a vote in the UN talks if we havent signed Kyoto, seems that is a bit of anpolitical Urban myth,,,,now why would they want to mislead us? ...funny post. Glad you managed to save the day, it just sounds too important to have missed out.

Funny! Don`t you hate when that happens? You complain about something and then it comes right back to bite you sigh!
I forgot to mention the policy that we had back home with telephone books. Every year if you wanted the updated one you had to go to the Post Office and hand in your old one for recycling where you would be handed your new one. If you didn`t have your old one you had to PAY for the new one. Worked pretty well. When people have to pay for somethnig they tend to PAY more attention to it!
