ls being a Scientist the new black?

July 10th 2007 01:11
Never in my life can I remember when being a Scientist or a Meteorologist was cool....has
Live Earth changed that? Is it now COOL to be a scientist....will people now find it interesting if you sit around spouting facts about the evolution of planetary temperatures, the experiments conducted on how to measure carbo emissions or the physics of rain....will you invite a guy to a dinner party specifically because he knows all about weather patterns, what causes them and whether or not it is going to snow this season......if live earth made rock stars environmentalists, meterologists and scientists on the weekend does this now mean that Environmentalists, scientists and Meterologists are the new rock stars?????? The evidence is building up to suggest the winds of change are blowing.......

I heard an interview with Cate Blanchett (possibly one of the cooloest people going around) the other day and she cited David Suzuki and Al Gore as her two heroes...is the world doing a complete back flip, who would have thought a a Scientist, and a politician could be admired around the world by seriously cool people ........

I wonder if Movie stars that support other causes like Breast Cancer, Sick Kids and the likes are now uncool, will they all have to jump on a different bandwagon? Or can they stay on both and make orphanges carbon neutral or or make sure all Cancer research has a zero Carbon footprint or something......forget about feeding kids and curing things: spening money on carbon credits is the new black.........

Who knows Orblers but watch this space I say, the new guy at the next dinner party you go to might be the geek from science class with some new funky cool glasses and a head full of scintilating facts........move over dot commers, Super models will no longer date you, they are on the hunt for a Scientist with a twist......just think Kate Moss could ditch Junkie Pete doherty for a guy who can invent his own drugs instead of being hooked on something as boring as Heroin for crying out loud.......

Louie,

Hehe, great read. Does the guy who invented LSD have a son or grandson? I reckon Kate Moss would date him.

depends on the kind of science and the flavour of the month.

Even those wacky Google-working computer scientists are cool for the moment... but that can't last...

Kylie...OMG what a great idea, I'll invite Kate over and we will set them up for a blind date...match made in Heaven...or maybe she would prefer the honorable character that invented that Ice stuff everyone is losing it over......Ill get my people onto it straight away

Cibbuano,

VERY gutsy call directly doubting the pulling power of the Google Geeks...I mean Google Gods.... they don't take kindly to having their name used in vain, they might frame us for clicking on our own ads or something eually as horrendous.....
