I had a brilliant dive on Hayman Island last week while I was there for a wedding, had to hide from the rain somehow, due to the rain the Viz wasn't as good as some of the dives I have been on but there were aspects of the dive that made it one of my best ever.
The water was shallow so it was the longest dive I have ever had, plus it was just me and the Dive Master, as any diver would attest to, crowds are a big downer at some of the best dive sites in the world.
Then there was the beautiful Coral swim throughs, the underground caves and to top it off more fish than you will see anywhere, plus we got followed by four magnificent bright green and blue Maori Wrasse's, they were like dog's following us around, at first I thought it was just one, then each individual revealed its personality. I even got comfortable enough to pat them, they were seriously furry like little dog's, i certainly won't be fishing for a while that is for sure.
Here are some photo's of the fish I found, these aren't my snaps, the dive master deleted them before I could ask for them to be emailed unfortunately, but you'll get the idea.
I just love being down there, so silent, peaceful and beautiful and is certainly a reminder of the what is at stake if climate change does take hold.
Cheers
