D-Day John Howard Emissions Report
June 1st 2007 00:10
The day we have been awaiting re the PM's round table emmissions report, and the leaks tell us JH's committee has suggested a lame approach to the GHG Emissions issue as predicted by the press.
I guess we have to remember what a dramatic turn around this has been, JH must be dizzy and I guess if he can change this much in under six months he might just give us a reasonable outcome if we continue to put the pressure on....eventually
You never know he might just surprise us and bite the bullet and do something dramatic as a result of this submission. I am not a political animal so I don't really know what would be better for him politically, does admitting he was wrong give the opposition ammo and he looks bad for denying the issue for so long OR does admitting he was wrong make him more endearing and neutralises the Environment as a non-event for the election.????? I guess I'll get my answer over the next few months.
Still got to read the whole thing to see if it is as skewed by industry as the press has been alluding to. I do have better things to do this weekend but Ill find some time somehow.
Parliament next week might just get interesting – ok well not really but as interesting as it gets - if Peter Garrett does take the gloves off and step up as we would all like him to do. Bring back the power and the passion……..
Happy Friday, happy reading
