Climate Red - News and Views on Climate Change Issues.

where we stand on Climate Change

April 6th 2008 22:22
Just so we all have it straight this is the governments latest stance on Clmate Change. Clear as mud you will agree. The HE is our fearless leader.

He said: "There has to be a greater synergy between, let's call it our policy leadership in this, which has been focused so much, legitimately, on targets and global architecture, almost reverse-engineered back to the means by which you can quickly deliver outcomes, and on the demand side in our economy we're looking at potential advances in terms of 20 to 25% range if you do this across the board. It all takes cost, but let me tell you it's probably the quickest lever you can pull given the challenges we face."

I don't really go into politics, and I honestly think whatever Kevin Rudd did at the moment someone would have something bad to say about it, BUT I will have to say all this bad press he s getting happens to be co-inciding with me hearing a snippet from a Comedians act last weekend (sorry do'nt know which comedian, heard it being played as a soundtrack in a pub) but here goes

"I can't vote for Kevin Rudd, he is to much like a Southpark character, every time I see him speak I think...who KILLED KEVVY"

and now my friends every time I see Kev speak, Kenny pops into my head, not good. I am hoping that Kevvy does what he is supposed to do and leave the talkng on Climate Change to Penny Wong, she's got it going on, and as far as I know there s no Southpark character with her name on it.

happy monday

I hate it when people use the word 'synergy'.

I can understand Rudd's trepidation... last year, it was all about climate change, but now, with the fears of a recession, I don't think any politician wants to dive into making restrictions and possibly contributing to the slowdown...

yeah, mind you, NOTHING has ever, or very likely will ever compare to how much this credit crunch is going to contribute,..... Climate Change costs are not even a drop in the ocean, whichever way you do the numbers
