is the world flat?

An interesting interview with Al Gore is going to be aired in America on 60 minutes this weekend, CLICK HERE FOR LINK to full story and guess what people, if you don't believe in Climate Change you are in a minority as marginal as the people who thought the world is flat many moons ago according to Gore.

Confronted by Stahl with the fact some prominent people, including the nation’s vice president, are not convinced that global warming is man-made, Gore responds: "You're talking about Dick Cheney. I think that those people are in such a tiny, tiny minority now with their point of view, they’re almost like the ones who still believe that the moon landing was staged in a movie lot in Arizona and those who believe the world is flat,” says Gore.

Like a true poltician now Gore has the wind behind him his statements are getting bolder and bolder, in six months we have moved from the possbility of an economic shift to equal the industrial revolution, to being in the midst of the second industrial revolution. Love it!!!

Believer or not you have to love his passion and committment, the interview also highlights just how much of his own substantial fortune he is throwing into this campaign. I can almost forgive him for making money out of the whole endeavour now.

Cheers

Happy Friday

Louie

He does have a lot of passion for climate change, and let's hope he is putting all the money he has made to good use, and not be a hypocrite and go spend it all on useless things. (like a sports car that drinks petrol like we do water)

Hi Louie,

to being in the midst of the second industrial revolution. Love it!!!

The truth is, we are... gotta love his zest too ... he's getting heads switched on and wouldn't it just be ... I mean, wouldn't it be ... almost : I mean, wouldn't it be ... the very best to actually have a politician in the Oval Office that people actually, voted for in the first place?

What a concept!

I'm looking forward to this 'update' or is that, 'download.'

Thanks for the heads up.

Lilla ...

omg how dumb are these flat earth people hahaha

Once again, picture in your mind a round world. Now imagine that there are two people on this world, one at each pole. For the person at the top of the world, (the North Pole), gravity is pulling him down, towards the South Pole. But for the person at the South Pole, shouldn't gravity pull him down as well? What keeps our person at the South Pole from falling completely off the face of the "globe"?

thats from the site which ruby provided the link for

erm hello, you dont fall off the bottom because gravity draws objects towards the centre of the object BAHAHAHAhahaha im so entertained

they think theyre really onto something!

Love the picture, morgue? is that the new cemetry? of course the world is flat, silly, just look out to the horizon where you'd fall off.

That climate is not getting any less red and it couldn't get any redder.

they think they're really onto something!

Yeah, it's a good laugh. Apparently, round earth theory- and to them it is a theory- is just a government conspiracy. Why the govt would choose to lie to us about such a thing, they have no idea. But they think it has something to do with money???

They also think there is a huge wall of ice that stops all the waters of the ocean's running off the edge of the world.
I think someone needs to introduce them to Christopher Columbus.

Charles K Johnson, the leader of the Flat Earth Society, who died in 2001:

"Nobody knows anything about the true shape of the world," he contends. "The known, inhabited world is flat. Just as a guess, I'd say that the dome of heaven is about 4,000 miles away, and the stars are about as far as San Francisco is from Boston."
As shown in a map published by Johnson, the known world is as circular and as flat as a phonograph record. The North Pole is at the center. At the outer edge lies the southern ice, reputed to be a wall 150 feet high; no one has ever crossed it, and therefore what lies beyond is unknown.
The sun and moon, in the Johnson version, are only about 32 miles in diameter. They circle above the earth in the vicinity of the equator, and their apparent rising and setting are tricks of perspective, like railroad tracks that appear to meet in the distance. The moon shines by its own light and is not eclipsed by the earth. Rather, lunar eclipses are caused by an unseen dark body occasionally passing in front of the moon.
Johnson's beliefs are firmly grounded in the Bible. Many verses of the Old Testament imply that the earth is flat, but there's more to it than that. According to the New Testament, Jesus ascended up into heaven.
"The whole point of the Copernican theory is to get rid of Jesus by saying there is no up and no down," declares Johnson. "The spinning ball thing just makes the whole Bible a big joke."
Not the Bible but Johnson's own common sense allowed him to see through the globe myth while he was still in grade school. He contends that sensible people all over the world, not just Bible believers, realize that the earth really is flat.
"Wherever you find people with a great reservoir of common sense," he says, "they don't believe idiotic things such as the earth spinning around the sun. Reasonable, intelligent people have always recognized that the earth is flat."

Anyway, Al Gore rocks. Talk about bouncing back from tragedy 8 years ago and finding another way to make such a huge difference to the world.

Hey guys, just want to clarify that the first link I gave you www.alsaka.net

is actually a satirical site which puts forward the FE theory and deconstructs it.

www.flatearthsociety.org is the real site of the flat earth society.

amyHuang, I think Al Gore realised a few years back he had to sell the fancy cars, he is probably a closet petrol drinker or something
