Climate Red - News and Views on Climate Change Issues.

adelaide GETS climate change

August 12th 2007 23:51
Adelaide is opening its very own Climate change centre today based at Adelaide Uni. You will be pleased to know they have their priorities completely in order and will be examining the effects of Climate change on Wine Growing (among other things of course)
It is good to see us Aussies have our priorities right when allocating resources to serious world issues. Let's face it, most things we can live without but threaten our supply of wine and beer and we just won't cope. We would quite happily let Tasmania flood and can turn a blind eye to the odd drought or two, but take away the Beer and you've got a fight on your hands.

Now we understand why Johnny Howard, Kevin Rudd and Peter Garrett are up in arms about this climate change thing, the life blood of this great nation is under threat, now that's worth fighting for people.......

Louie,

Ha ha aha ha aaah haaa haaaa!

It is good to see us Aussies have our priorities right when allocating resources to serious world issues.

No kidding. In 2006, Mr Howard's re-stock bill for the Lodge's wine cellar alone was a 'paltry' $36,000..

Surely, that is what really counts?

*rolling my eyes*

$36,000, what kind of a fearless leader is he...he should be drinking at least $500 a day in good quality Aussie plonk......

Whew, I can't tell you how relieved I am to hear that we won't let any harm come to our wine crops and beer making abilities.

Yay!!!

Oh, and raising awareness of climate change is good too (though not as good as safe guarding the beer and wine!).

WHAT? no more wine? I`m leaving for France on the next flight!

I`ve noticed the increase in the price of wine over the past few months.... seems it`s not just the farmers that are suffering with the drought. Glad the government is on the case.... now we have nothing to fear

Absolutely evacuate immediately.....no wine no stay...the problem is that France is affected too, apparently the new Wine Growing Mecca's are going to be Tasmania and Russia so you might want to time your move, to avoid either freezing or flooding....maybe we all need to work on our Cellar stocking skills.....

And KylieW yes, as long as we look after the important things the other trivial matters can just dam well take care of themselves.

They would be better to set up a Sex Change Study center. In case I get one, it would upset my wife, but, she's always pissed off at me anyway.
