WD-40 Tips to help save
May 21st 2011 11:52
I can always remember growing up as a child that familiar looking yellow and blue can sitting around my fathers and grandfathers garage and workshop shelves. The thing that caught my attention about it was just about every time I would venture out to see what was going on in the shop my father always had that yellow and blue can in his hand. In my great curiosity I finally asked him why that can was so important that he had to carry it everywhere he went. His reply, “That my son is WD-40.”From that point on I wasn’t without a can in every project I set out to do. It was amazing the things I saw my father use WD-40 for. I also discovered a few uses for myself that I will share with you.
2. Whenever you finish that messy job that gets your hands all greasy and dirty you can spry them with WD-40 to help remove any stains from your hands.
3. I have also sprayed the inside of old distributor caps to help get the moisture out that could be causing a misfire in your older model engines. Just spray the inside of the cap and then wipe out with a dry rag.
4. Use as a sparkplug cleaner when getting your engine it top working order.
5. I have also used it to clean any excess glue from the laminate that we have installed. When you are finished you can spray the whole project and wipe it clean to move any dust and debris.
7. It can also be used as a tar and bud remover on your vehicle. It also works on heavy road grime.
8. Spray on some of those retired paint brushes to help bring them back to life.
9. Spray a generous coat on your wire brushes to help extend the life of them.
10. Spray on the threads of your hitch ball so when it comes time to remove or change to a different ball it won’t be such a hassle.
These are just a few of the hundreds of uses for that can of WD-40 that you need to have always on you shelves in your garage or workshop. There are also small cans and packages so that you can keep one in your toolbox. It is a good idea to always have a can around. I bet you that it would get used often.
